The S366 is too big for 400whp. The S256 would be a better choice, and close in size to the 3076R.

This book brings everything together and is actually geared towards imports in some respects:

Street TurbochargingHP1488: Design, Fabrication, Installation, and Tuning of High-Performance Street Turbocharger Systems

A good plan can't really be formed until you have a good foundation of knowledge.

My question is how does the turbo I select affect the rest of the kit. Or better yet, how do i know where to go from the turbo i select (for instance which intercooler to get or which manifold to choose)?
In reference to your original question. Everything effects everything. There are tipping points/ranges for everything. At some point your drivetrain comes into question as well. It's a lot to think about.

Good luck,

I think I am gonna order that book. I've done a lot of online reading, but theres so much information spread across it's hard to keep track.

I've been looking up prices on all three turbos, and am I correct in assuming the s366 is the cheapest? I've seen several builds with this turbo on a stock engine that made around 450whp, which is pretty close to my general goal

S366 and the 3076 aren't even in the same league. The 366 is fckin huge mode compared to a 30r

I've got a fairly comprehensive build thread that may answer a bunch of your questions in regards to the S366, as does this goon Matt above me
