Default Ptuning motor mount review, and failure?

Hey guys I have had my ptuning kit installed for about 6 months now, and everything is great. The biggest drawback for this kit to me has been the motor mount vibrations. It is very noticeable, however still not as bad as the hasport mounts my brother had in his s2000 at one point. I know many will say its minor, but this is my only car and I drive 60-100 miles everyday, and its definitely fatiguing. I ended up buying the new softer motor mount insert that Ptuning just released, its the yellow 50A insert. Upon install I noticed that my old inserts looked like they were sagging and melting. I have had the kit for less than 5000 miles, also take into account the unknown miles from the previous owner of the kit. Anyone else have the same issue? I'm also concerned about the new insert I just put in considering it is even softer. Am I being paranoid, as this doesnt look normal to me.

As far as reviewing the softer insert, I think it does feel better, its hard to say as the vibrations are still considerably more than stock. But I just put them in an hour ago, so I'll report back after a couple days with how the car feels then.

heres a few pictures of the old inserts compared to the new ones.
I was able to wipe off gooey portions of the mount. The car was cold, so why it didnt harden back up is a mystery to me.

Might want to think about getting a turbo blanket like the one that ATP makes. I have it on my turbo (not Ptuning kit). It is expensive but you won't have any more melting issues.

Well you have a heat issue for sure. I think the guy who had the car previously probably was boosting the hell out of it and was generating a lot of heat. You should consider putting a turbo blanket on. I have not had any issue but mine is shielded. Here are pics of my old mounts and they where in excellent shape.

Was never sure if a blanket would fit with this set up. Ive heard DEI is supposed to be the best but they're pretty pricey. Will this fit for sure before i spend the money on it http://www.designengineering.com/cat...rbo-shield-kit

You should run a turbo blanket. I got mine from here:

Talk to Levi.

Blankets are great quality, reasonably priced, and he stands behind his product.

I am running the GTX 3076. PM me if you need the dimensions for the blanket.......Levi might also have them on file.

Installed the yellow inserts this morning. Noticeable reduction in cabin vibration idling at 1000rpm. Still running stock driver side motor mount. Don't know what stock feels like any more so can't compare.

The black motor mounts still looks good after 20K miles.

Looks like you got oil all over your mount and it is eating into it. Make sure there is no exhaust leak also. That probably will melt your mount. Mine still looks good over 20K miles, with a lot of abuse.

The turbo sits so low, a heat shield is unnecessary.
