Besides the low volume of sales for these systems on these types of cars, R&D is much more expensive.
1. You probably have 5 Tiburon's and 200 civics in the world for every 1 s2000/vette/m3 etc.
2. The above mentioned also cost a lot more to acquire, and a lot more to repair during the R&D phase. When Ripp mods made their SC'r for the 3rd gen eclipse they blew 3 or 4 engines doing the R&D testing pushing the kits limits to find the breaking point so they could make it safe.
The risk when experimenting 30k, 40k, 70k dollar car with low sales figures, vs a 15k dollar car with massive sales figures...

You have mentioned the obvious which I have already stated Supply and Demand. Question is as companies look at the individuals purchasing products are they saying More expensive car meaning we can sell are products with a 35% profit margin versus a 10% profit margin. Or they make money they can afford to pay more.
