question about turbo placement on a custom manifol

im currently in the process of buying this manifold/downpipe combo. i am curious, is the position of the turbo going to lead to problems.? i am wondering if the turbo can drain oil properly in this position? also, does anyone have any advice on tackling under hood temps? with the downpipe being in the engine bay, ill need to remove the hoods insulation. probably need to build a heat shield aswell.
any advice or warnings?https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...57c537d32a.jpg

The placement of the turbo will be fine. There are numerous guys on the boards that run similar setups and there is no issue at all as long as the oil feed is at 12 oclock and the return is at 6 oclock. Just use the insulated heat wrap or something similar to what is shown in your picture and you will be fine. And do run a filter for street use :)

thanks for the info. may i ask what you mean when you said to run a filter for street use? i can retain the original filter location with this kit. please explain

He means the filter to the turbo inlet. Its wise to run a good AEM dry or K&N filter when on the street.

yeah just wrap everything because it will definately get hot. Also make sure they used good strong materials to build the manifold because there is a ton of weight hanging out in front of the motor for only 4 runners to support it. The companies that make their sidewinders like inlinepro and afi use top quality stuff.

You can get a stubby air filter to run on the turbo also.

I agree on using strong material for the manifold, also consider stronger studs and/or a support for if you have any good ideas to solve it.

If you browse the forum you can see some nasty pics of burnt out cars, so taking the heatwrapping seriously is recommended. Also in terms of system efficiency.

That manifold placement just looks...weird.
