Really Doing this 1JZ/2JZ Swap Starts 11/15/10
So here were go. I have been lately about doing this or turbocharging the S. You have to remember though I am a Toyota fanatic. I have had 12 Supra's 11 of those being Turbo. I just completed two 1JZ swaps into two '88 Supra's and I think I want to do this into a S.
A lot of people come on here talking of doing this, but I know the wiring layout of the 1JZ damn well. Also the 2JZ is what I really want, but the 1JZ is a gentle giant that can hold the power very well. I also want to retain a higher revving motor. The JDM 2jz and 1jz make 280 hp. In Japan the 2JZ does not make the 320 Hp that it makes here. It has 440cc injectors, we here in the U.S have 550CC and make more power.
So it has come time for me to start the journey of my dreams. I also want to add I know a lot of people argue about the 50/50 weight distribution. I am willing to still do this. My motor, transmission, ecu etc will be for sale since I will not be using them anymore.
If I go with a 1JZ I will know the exact wires etc, if I use a 2JZ I need a trans bell housing, flywheel, transmission bracing, etc.
I will be creating a project log on Supramania, but most importantly on here as well. My user name on there is 92tealsupra if anyone ever wanted to find the thread or other threads.
I hope I get support through this process and I can not wait for the custom work to begin!
Thanks, S2ki - -

If you knew more about these motors you may understand they're just as good as new motors.
No distributor ( 2 ) cam sensors, 1 crank sensor, Coil on plug, this was back in 1990. it has everything the F20C has, plus you can boost them without issues. I like Toyota, and I love Honda two awesome companies, it is time I bring them together..
