Replace Oil Pump?

Just wondering what you guys would do, i had my engine built by IP, and wondering what you guys suggest, i have an oil pump with 65k miles on it that i was gonna reuse on my new block, wondering if you guys would replace it or reuse it?

I would buy a new oem one. U spend money on the motor mind as well buy a new pump.

it would be best to go with a new oil pump. thats what inlinepro did when they built my motor

Do yourself a favor and go to honda and buy a new pump. I am surprised they didn't tell you to get a new one. One of the first things i tell people to do when we do a motor for them.

Doesnt IP put the block all back together with a new pump and all you have to do is put the head on? This should be part of the build for the price they charge.

No they don't and to be honest I've torn apart a pump that survived this

and it had zero damage, seems like the filter must have caught the damage. It's a very simple device, I know most say don't trust a used pump, but a new one is pretty damn expensive. Also if you are scared, it's so easy to check it out with a feeler gauge and the specs. Plus when you first start the motor up you do it without combustion and watch for the oil pressure to build (you need a gauge).

On a side note local dealers will prolly rape you on price. $238 at Majestic Honda

Motor build, upgrade/replace pump.

It's like doing a timing belt and not replacing the water pump.
