Default S/C Question

Got a got a CR with 8,000 miles and I want to install the Kraftwerks high boost kit, but first I have a couple of questions for those of you with FI backround. I've already bought the following mods to support the upgrade - comp clutch stage 2 kit w/flywheel - T1R 70mm Evasive Motorsports Dual - Okada Project coilpacks....I am also looking to add Thermostat/Fan Switch, T1R header and a berk hi flow cat converter.

1. Is it ok to boost a car with such low miles? I know the car is not fully broken in and I originally wanted to wait till I hit 30K but my obsession is not allowing me to hold off.

2. Do boosted cars hold up well on long trips 4+ hours - overheating ect.-? I ask this because I'm going to drive this every day for the next 8 months with plenty of long south texas road trips mixed in.

3.Is it necessary to upgrade to a Big Brake kit? Will upgraded pads be OK?

I am currently torn on what to do.

1. Quit messing around and Boost it now.

or

2. Add an intake and a Hondata toda reflash along with my supporting mods....wait a year then boost it with more miles on the engine. This should keep me happy while the car is still a DD.

any help is appreciated

Nah boost away. You'll be fine on long trips as you're seldom in boost anyway. And you only need brakes if you're considering track days.

the CC stage 2 won't be enough for the high boost setup. Mine is slipping and I'm only making a measly 335whp.

I hope its something wrong with your clutch. I have the same clutch and I'm going to be running 9psi on a CTSC. Hopefully it holds up

really? i was told by multiple sources that the ACT HD (equivalent to a CC stage 2 i think) would be good for a 10psi setup

coil packs were a waste of money for your application.
do the fan/themostae mod 1st - it really make a difference here in florida
your motor was broke in after the first 500 miles - beat on it!
long drive trips should be no problem, if the car is tuned and running correctly - it should run as good or better than stock.

my opion on brakes - upgrade to stainless lines and high temp fluid -

leave intake alone dont even mess with a gasket - waste of money!

the kraftworkers kit comes with a hondata reflash so just do the following and you would have a dependable DD that is fast

upgrade clutch (you can get a stainless steel feed line for this also)
install fan & themostate low temp mods
install stainless steel brake lines and new fluid
Kraftworkers kit.

Ok...I have removed the coilpacks from my order. I installed the clutch kit and it is broken in with over a thousand miles on it already. I am going to install the exhaust / hi flow cat / brake lines / hawk hps street pads / thermo - fan switch and the SC kit all at the same time. I am planning to purchase the header later and put it on after the SC install. Would it be better to buy and install the header at the same time? Thanks for all of the help

you will have to remove the super charger in order to change the exhaust manifold, its up to you if you want to do work twice.
