Default S300sx Fmw dyno sheets

Looking into this turbo and wanted to see some dyno sheets and what owners of this turbo think about it. I would be running it in a T3 .70a/r with a pfab elt mani.

post up your dynos if you got them!

Thanks

i don't think you have enough room in the bay to run that turbo. it is the same size roughly as your current turbo but it is either going to use a 4.21" Mormon flange or a full-race modified 3" extension which will hit the fire wall once your downpipe is connected

I'm running a S300SX FMW with a P-Fab divided T4 manifold. I had to send the turbo to Pang to make sure it fit and have the 90 degree elbow welded onto the compressor housing. Unfortunately, I don't have any dynos yet. I'm planning on taking it to the dyno this spring at Evans Tuning.

So far, my thoughts are that this turbo is probably the perfect size for where I used to live (Wyoming and South Dakota). There, you have long stretches of straight road, low traffic, and lots of high speed corners. I'm not sure about PA though. The roads around here are so twisty and relatively slow that this turbo may be one size too big. I have a 30-40 minute morning commute and there are only a couple of places where I could consider full throttle long enough to get into serious boost. When driving around normally, the turbo does spool up and make useful boost even at low rpm. It feels similar to my old GT3076R in that regard. When I was doing initial tuning, I hit the boost cut a couple of times without even trying.

Thanks Tim, I'm thinking I may just stay with my s256 for now. See how that works. I was just wanting to make a little more power

Thanks. It's just the factory heat shield cut a bit, slightly bent, and then wrapped. The reflective matting is riveted in place. That "DEI Heat Screen aluminized mylar radiant matting" is awesome. It makes an enormous difference in temperature between the two sides of the shield. I can hold my hand on the back side of the shield after a long drive.

How much boost are you running with that s300sx? I'm trying to decide of that turbo is too large for my goals.

Yes, it is a 3" downpipe. It fits well. There's a minimum of 1/4" between it and everything else and I have yet to hear it hit.

If you're considering the S300SX FMW, go check out:
http://www.turbos.bwauto.com/aftermarket/matchbot/index.html

I believe it's the same compressor wheel as the EFR8374. It's large enough to stay on the map all the way to redline, but does so at the cost of spool up. I was hoping the divided T4 housing might make it spool a bit more like the GT3076R I had before, but without good high speed datalogs or dynos yet, I don't know.

Tim,

Be careful with that CHRA clocked like that. Idk if it's just the angle or what, but it looks pretty aggressive.
