Sheepey 6262 build (videos page 1&2)

I've waited 7 years to be able to properly boost my S2K and am beyond excited. Had a few issues with downpipe smoking. Turned out the heat wrap around it was contaminated with oil. Happy with my first hood vent job. Also, definitely reccomend a .030 restrictor with a PTE 6262 because it solved my turbo smoking issues and has been running strong past few thousand miles.

Looks good.

On the videos do you have a full exhaust or just a downpipe? That turbo whistle...

Just downpipe. I was thinking that I wanted full exhaust at first but I really love the way everything sounds right now.

YES! I love open downpipe

On race gas you will probably see 500whp. But on 93oct, you will probably be around 450whp. Which is still fast.

JJAUTOWERKS 06-29-2015 08:08 AM

^^^ He's correct. You could make it on e85 with the injectors close to max point.

KaNgArOo 06-29-2015 09:29 AM

^^Except he won't make it to 500whp on E85 with a walbro 255lph fuel pump. I made over 500whp on ID1000 with E85 but i had to get a serious fuel pump setup. haha.

JuicedS2K 06-29-2015 09:50 AM

Im coming from only a i/e/tp s2k. Haven't had nitrous for about 5 years now. I'm just hoping ~450 whp will feel great :)

profit_child 06-29-2015 10:51 AM

Bump for my old turbo kit!!!! glad it worked out well! tuck that fuse box!

profit_child 06-29-2015 10:53 AM

Kit made 400 whp dyno jet @ kings spiking 11 pounds.. race gas on about 25psi you should make 550hp.. 500 on pump gas would be dangerous with a nasty boost curve that wouldnt be very useful in are cars... just FYI

Hell yea man, thanks for everything.

Torque-less 06-29-2015 02:25 PM

Looks good man! Very similar to the set-up I have waiting in my basement. I plan on going for over 500whp with my 6262, not that the number really matters its just the principle of it haha

bigyellowevo 06-29-2015 05:21 PM

I'm considering going with the same manifold. How was fitment on the Sheepey manifold and downpipe?

Had to relocate battery, turn fuse box, and move radiator fan over and remove AC and AC fan. Downpipe fits great.

JuicedS2K 06-29-2015 06:45 PM

Came out pretty good. Need to sand smooth still.

4 pound test run. AF at 11:1 , Quarter throttle. LOVE sound of wastegate venting to atmosphere through hood vent.

Sounds Great! wait till you hear it at 8k in 4th...

spectacle 07-01-2015 04:40 AM

New heat wrap smokes for a few mins on first drive. It's pretty scary if you aren't prepared for it lol

JuicedS2K 07-01-2015 10:08 AM

470 whp :) It's fast as hell to me, so excited.

So car was running amazing for one day. All of the sudden it's completely cutting out at ~6k rpms. It sounds like a fuel cut and makes that pop sound. Frustrated.

edit: Just looked at all vacuum lines and there is a bit of oil in the vacuum lines where the wastegate and bob T into. Can this be the problem?

Dens2k152mph 07-02-2015 09:56 AM

Damn that's sucks dude, if I was you I would start a new thread that you need help or edit your tittle on this one. Sorry I can't b of any help.

Habitforming 07-02-2015 09:59 AM

datalog?

sohc_mshue 07-02-2015 11:36 AM

boost cut??

buffalosojah 07-02-2015 06:13 PM

How much boost to make the 460whp? What fuel? Did you figure out what was causing the fuel cut?

s2konroids 07-03-2015 02:58 AM

Be careful not everyone can hear it but popping can be knock, or as above your hitting fuel cut but it'll be aggressive and you'll see from the exhaust haha. If you play with boost control it becomes quite sensitive in various scenarios (not warm up a hill etc etc) and is more likely to hit fuel cut due to overboost.

The only thing I'd say is fit a brace for the turbo it'll probably crack the manifold in time with that big arse turbo on it and those vents do as you guys say 'jack shit' unless your stationary, get a vented bonnet with louvres to pull out the hot air on the move and when stationary.

It's running fine now after disconnecting the vacuum line from the PCV. Maybe oil in the line was preventing the wastegate from opening?I think it may have been knock and the EMS was cutting fuel?

You really think I need to worry about manifold cracking? I find it very hard to believe that those vents don't let heat out while moving.

Also, here is the dyno:

Its a long branch manifold with a massive weight hanging off it, it'll probably crack the first runner as thats what gets the most heat and where most of the weight is on.

No because they can't let the heat out on the move, when completely still they will on the move nothing, lourves pull the heat out.

Upto you.

Torque-less 07-04-2015 12:40 PM

Just my 2cents, the only Sheepey s2000 manifold I have ever heard of cracking was Ulmighty's and his cracked on the wastegate flange, no where else. Sheepey fixed the manifold for him. On an additional note, these Sheepey Built manifolds carry a 10yr warranty. But I do agree it is a decent amount of weight hanging off of it and the extra support definitely won't hurt.

uLmighty 07-04-2015 02:28 PM

Yup my wg flange came off my manifold. As I remember sheepey admitted at fault. It looks like a samurai sword went and cut it clean. Anyways he fixed it no issue just make sure the dumptube wasn't hitting the hood since is hood exit.

I could do this all day. Love that sound.

KaNgArOo 07-08-2015 07:10 AM

More power more problems. I had an issue like that. Ended up being a bad Fuel Pressure regulator.

uLmighty 07-08-2015 10:21 AM

Nice I wanna go back to open down pipe!! Lol. BTW, are u havin any issue on your down pipe hitting underneath?

No issues at all with downpipe.

JuicedS2K 02-04-2016 07:19 AM

Sent a few things out for powder coating. This is how she sits now. Going for retune with Evans in the spring. Aiming for a solid 500 on pump and will be upgrading rear end. Most likely Inline Pro setup with 240sx rear.
