Just to explain myself first, im in Iraq and I don't get a chance to search very often and read the other threads.

To get to the point, i've strayed away from n/a because of the cost/performance ratio.

I've decided to purchase the Comptech s/c w/ac. I am going to install the kit myself and this is why I chose the Comptech.

A few ?'s I had and I know they have been asked already.

I have an 05 for starters.

1.) The car will be bone stock, so what kind of tuning should I look into getting done after the install?

2.) Should I change the plugs and to what gap should I set them at?

3.) If I go with a VAFC or a standalone, how much do they generally cost and which would be best for me? If I upgrade in the future it may consist of a header, test pipe, and an exhaust.

4.) Who in Hawaii(Oahu) wants to help with the install and that great crankshaft tool that all of us FI fiends love!

I won't get back from Iraq till about this time next year so I should have plenty of time to make up my mind and start purchasing bits and pieces in the process.

Definately something to consider but, not even sure if I need one yet. Pretty much one of my questions. How much are you selling it for? Do you ship?

1. no tune needed for stock boost.It's bolt and go

2. changing them is not a must.If you must then NGK copper racing plugs 7173

3. ems is the way to go if later you decide to up the boost.$1600 or so

4. don't live in Hawaii so can't help you out bro.maybe post in the Hawaii section for help

I Disagree that stock boost is bolt on, i got 40hp with a safe tune when i went to ems.I would go to some sort of ems, ultimate e-manage or the aem ems are goos systems. Im moving from stock (5.6lbs of boost) to almost 8lbs of boost, stock you dont feel much low end gain but get a smallwer pulley and the car comes to life low end.

I am trying to avoid the ems right off the bat. Due to the lack of funds. From the way that I understood it was that I needed to tune the car asap after the boost was added. The car will be in stock form when the boost is added. Will the car be reliable and perform well with no tune?

many people like myself has the standard kit on stock boost without tune.as other will stat no tune is needed with stock boost.

I offered 200 shipped to the lower 48 states. I'm not sure if Hawaii is more but if not, 200. If it's a little more, shipping will be a little more :)

no tune is neccessary with the stock boost. just change the plugs that run one step colder, NGK 7173. but if you do want to tune the thing a little you can always get it dynoed and have the tuner mess with the fuel pressure reg. :thumbup:

Just don't forget to re-gap your plugs to .032-.034.
