Default SOS Kit: Need help removing supercharger from bracket

My supercharger (Novi 1200) started leaking from the main seal. I've already contacted Vortech and have an RMA number to get the seal replaced. They asked that I remove all accessories before sending it. I've already pulled it from the car but I cannot get the 4 Allen head screws that hold it to the SOS bracket loose. So far I've tried an Allen key, Allen key with a pipe, penetrating oil, harsh words, an impact wrench and a map torch.

How did you guys separate the supercharger from the bracket?

I had to do the same thing sending mine back to vortech.

An impact is usually enough. I had one really stubborn one where I set it on it’s side standing up on a table and using a breaker pushing down on it for leverage

That's ridiculous, wtf? This shouldn't have to be an endeavor like removing the factory ap1 driveshaft bolts....Is Vortech having people use red loctite or something?

As it stands now, the things are still locked in there tight. Science of Speed suggested a bigger wrench. So one is on order... We'll see how that goes.

Use heat. I saw that you said you did already, but heat those bolts until you get a little poof of flame out from around the countersink - if its red loctite that's the loctite letting go. And yea, bigger wrench, and an allen key bit that fits tight. I'd file the nose of the key nice and flat too.

Early kits that were sold had directions to use Loctite on the bolts. Good luck, you want heat and the right socket and breaker bar. Be sure to take care in a visa to not scratch the plate. Using an impact gun may damage the hex in the bolt, resulting in you needed to weld a nut to the head of the bolt.

The bigger impact wrench caused the screw head to smoke... then strip. It stripped the hex pattern right out of the screw. This was with a snap-on H8 1/2" bit and a Milwaukee high torque impact. I am positive there is locktite on these bolts. We're at the point where I need to weld a nut on this and hit it with an impact again or drill them out.

To not leave this hanging. Shout out to the guys at MTM Corp in Andover. They were able to get the Super charger and bracket separated without damage to either. They drilled and tapped the inside of the set screws then backed them out.
