SOS Supercharger oil build-up Question

I am having to replace the starter on my car, or that's what I have narrowed it down to at this point, and getting everything out of the way so I took off the air filter and my supercharger has a little oil residue on it. Is this normal? My car has just over 80k miles and I must have put the supercharger on 20-25k miles ago. Everything has been running fine up until the car wouldn't start this past week.

are you running the bosch bypass valve in recirc? check that for an oil residue as well

Not uncommon. Though yours looks to be a very small amount, which I wouldn't even worry about. Not sure what filter your running if its an oil/KN type and your getting some residual build up from this, or possible little supercharger seal weeping. This can appear if you have your recirculation valve plumbed in still and the oil blow by will be returned back into the front of the charger, otherwise if not plumbed in you would notice some oil coming from the recirc/bov valve discharge instead - like me!

Thanks for the quick feedback! I will have to check the BOV. I had thought about the air filter since it does have oil in it which is a definite possibility. Thanks Guys
