Good read, interesting write up. Ironic that we have/had the same turbo kit and have had similar issues, but we'll save that.

trapping 118 is a solid 11second pass with a better 60ft. If your going to stick with street tires you should try some Dunlop Star Specs, they're really great tires! I cut multiple low 1.8-9 sec 60's with them.

As far as going with the puddy rear, I have been running for a year, since the day my car was boosted, and it has held up to many track passes and 2step launches. BUT!!! the 3.91 rear gear.. I have no solid proof but I do feel the car is slower with this gear at the power our cars are pushing. Maybe it is just the lack of torque to push through the gear. I just took my puddy 3.90 rear off my car yesterday (sending it back this week to have a 4.10 put back in) and have installed a stock diff (4.10 gear) on my car for the mean time.. I have to say my car has come alive again and feels much better/quicker than before.

The 3.90 was great for the hwy driving, but in terms of go-fast, I feel it slowed me down.
I ran a 12.03@117.5mph with the 3.90 and am confident that with the 4.10 gear in the car again that 11's will surely come easier.

Not sure where to start.

1.) That new mani and DP look great, about the only think I did not like was the sharp exits in the downpipe from the turbo and the #4 cylinder runner though that is a pretty small comprimist to make to ensure good fitment. The rest looks great, the manifold definatly has a closer to equal length runner which should help a bit. That manifold brace looks great and should definatly keep your kit going strong.

Has the vibration dampend with the new setup? What about the manifold did they use Sch20 or greater pipe?

2.) Not surprised to see the diff pop but I think you are going down the right track with the 3.91:1's. I was looking for something around 3:70's for mine before it got retired.

3.) Have you put more though into E85? The up front fueling cost will be greater but each tank will save you $100-130 dollars or just 10 track days and $1,000-1,300. When I do get my Z I am definatly going to do this route rather than race gas.

Keep us up todate.

Great write up! I feel your pain with the build as I'm sure there are many others that feel the same. If I wasn't such a pussy about my diff I would have gone faster than a 12.70 at 117. I just don't feel like spending more on the car right now. That and I bought a 2003 GPW to keep all motor and have fun with.

The 4.10 has me going into 5th before the traps and it is hurting me. I guess I should have asked this before committing to it but can you hold 4th before passing the traps with the 3.91 gear?

304 Sch10

Vibration is exactly the same. This motor makes some nasty harmonics between 2700-3200 rpm that the turbo setup amplifies and the knock sensor picks up as knock. For now the knock sensor is turned off until Hondata releases the knock control tables for Kpro. Not sure if i can fit one of those engine torque dampers on that side, but I'm going to look into it for a possible help for vibration control

There is nothing you can do to get rid of the violent vibrations of this motor. We just have to brace everything the best we can to protect the manifold.

Make sure your downpipe and dump tube are not touching anything else on the car (or your whole exhaust for that matter). This will not only lead to nasty vibrations but it will also cause manifolds to crack.

Any boost creep?

That's was very interesting and painful to read. Congrats on the car Spec and congrats for not giving up and seeing it through. What A/R are you running on your 6262? I will be installing one soon but I feel the .82 A/R will be to much. I'm in Jax so maybe I'll get to see your car someday when it's running again.
