Stewies Candy swirl FBM V2 build
So a lot has been in the works for a couple of weeks now so I'll try to bring this up to speed on what's in, challenges faced, and facing still.
My last setup SOS TS Max(92 Oct. Around11lbs); 420whp 290+wtq for a solid power band, honestly think I will regret this but I just can't get by not being able to grow. Ran a efr full race with it, it kept a car length till top of fifth (see makima808 power chart for comparison)... Doesn't get much better then that on pump; Stockmotorgang vs. stockmotorgang
Anyways. FBM V2, gtx3582 GEN2, ktuner touch, ktuner flex fuel converter, SOS E85 content reader sensor, universal Mac solenoid for boost controller, 9lb spring in the gate.
My buddy has the FBM sidewinder and told me to re locate the oil filter for ease of changing and it being a hair tight to get to so the CM oil re location is what I went with.
So far for kit prep and ease of time for install. The 450lph E85/gas pump is in, I snipped the connector off and crimped insulated connectors onto each wire. Gave the connector a pinch and pushed it onto the pin; they are super tight.
Next, I wanted more drivetrain stability so i installed innovatives billet 95a engine mounts, but after a week I took off the driver side and Installed 1 BS hardened engine mount with 1 95a on the passenger side... Much better and I believe this is a good compromise. After inspection of the OEM mounts both were torn, in hindsight I was thinking my transmission was acting up but once new mounts went in the precision and actual flow of shifts were night n day. Vibration frequency is inbetween actual idle and 2k now, meaning at idle it's low, above 2.5k+ it's low so it's much better. Also actually choosing which one to swap was kind of a guess to, so I went with the one that seemed to me, more in line with piston travel. Passenger side comes straight off the block @90* so I chose drivers side which goes down at a 45.
Sorry no pic. They r shinyy tho lol.
Got down n frikin itchyy with the headers. Even soaking the wrap in water helps as well as makes it look good n tight but dang it sux. Used a temperature controlled Zinc primer on the bare metal for corrosion, wet wrapped dried, and then sealed with it's combo kit wrap spray.
Wrap goes to end of collector just had not got that far yet. Down pipe done the same way. The 1" looks so much sexier then the supplied 2" wrap. Glad I went with 1" < lol this is what I was telling myself the whole time. So sexy "my precious" (did I mention fiberglass sux)
AC re location and heater valve re location done n out of the way, just need to charge AC. I'm gonna re do the bottom hose on the CM oil re location. It needs two more 45* AN fittings. Possibly notch that bottom cliff off the center beam.
did a little heat management stuff on the battery and fuse box. Not done tho. Have some goodies for that.
Have not touched the electrical side yet. Here's a few pics tho.
Started the Interfooler project, ha see what I did there. But cold side charge pipe coming up; the bend seems kind of tight.
Actually cold and hot side aren't perfect by any means but I'm working it. The hot side seemed better but I don't have a compressor their to verify.
See what I mean; it's practically bending right back into the chassis.
osborne Auto service did a superb job for me once again on the DP vband.
He's finishing up my charge pipe with SOS IAT adapter.
got Nord locks for header, collector, and what ever else I can use them on.
That covers most of it for now. I'll leave it with some Mon. Morning porn.

: I like the presentation and simplicity of one waste gate also placed below; it's kinda out of eye shot. With this Mani WG placement also its a quick way out (down n out) hopefully negating broken dump tubes.
Those are my main points.

pros and cons to everything, even the differences between fbm kit and prls even tho they are similar. They have different design aspects.

got some electrical done n pins attached today. Trying to decipher the SOS instructions for content sensor and converter, probably need to contact them tomorrow.
Trying to verify D13 high side and E1 (31 position) on connectors. Also think I put a spare for sensor connector onto the VCC +12V red wire (D13 high side) it's bigger then the converters pre-installed signal wire for E1 (31 position)
