Supercharger or Turbo?
I'm looking into boosting my baby(2005) and was thinking of going the SC route as it's "safer" but it doesn't really kick in until you rev it up. Which route should I go and what do you think is the best choice? Please explain as much as possible. :heart:

imo supercharging would be the best route since it's a linear power band and not too much power where it starts to upset the balance of the car.
that's coming from someone who used to have an inlinepro turbo kit on his S :tipwink: |

Mine is supercharged but i think i might go turbo next year. The power is so unusable on the street. Unless your constantly in the upper rpm's then it takes a while to have the power kick in, its like driving a big 2-stroke. One benefit is since the power is so linear the car rarely loses traction.

If you are creative and want to have some fun putting together your own setup, then turbo has sooo many different options as far as what turbo, what manifold, what wastegate setup, and so-on. Superchargers are far more "bolt-on" it seems with less ways to "customize". Sure you can change BOV's, intake setups, and maybe go crazy like 99SH and work in a wastegate setup... but it seems turbo setups are limitless. |

Supercharging is good for up to 400-500 whp and if you want anything above you should go turbo. I'm Vortech supercharged. |
I've done both. If you like to drive her frequently and spiritedly be prepared to take measures for heat protection. I'm sc'd and honestly, if you have enough whp to spin the rear tires at highway speed (top of second), do you need more?
