is this a surge or what ?
hi everyone !
so i have my novi 1000 with a front mounted setup. and it has an HKS bov on it. i got it like that, i didn't do it myself ! anyway, i'm hearing some wired sound coming from the supercharger and it looks like it's not taking air properly ! here is a video i took of it ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDoql3_-fqY&feature=plcp i did a little search and all i could understand is that it might be a compressor surge because of the HKS bov and i'm supposed to get something called "bypass valve" because that's the best for supercharges ! if that's the case from where can i get a good bypass valve ? if not, what do you guys think is the problem ? any ideas ? thanks ! |
Bump !

Not sure what that sound is...can you grab the end of the impeller shaft and see if it has any play? It very well could be a bearing saying good bye. If that is the case you can rebuild it or have someone else do it... Paxton no longer services the nv1000, they want you to buy a newer model. 928motorsports.com and superchargerrebuild.com both will do the deed for you...
with the fmic I think most people run a bov, vs the bypass valve that is stock on most of the kits that use an aftercooler. I don't know if a bad bov would cause surge, someone will jump in and school both of us. |
when the the car is off the impeller shaft dose not move or anything, how can i know if it's a bearing going out ??
and how much you guys think it would cost to rebuild it ? |
