Default turbo installed with aem ems

I brought a turbo kit with aem ems that has a map tuned on 91 octane in california.
But now i'm in north carolina and running 93 octane.

Is it safe for me to drive around until my tune which is like half a month away?
It is my daily driver but i dont drive very often. The car starts and idle just fine and i have drove it on the highway 2 hours straight already to check the a/f ratio.

at idle it is around 16.xx-17.xx
At partial load a/f is around 14.xx-16.xx
at medium load it is around 12.xx-13.xx
and i saw it once at wot which was 10.8xx-11.xxx

I have managed to not hit boost with the exception of that once to check the a/f ratio.

It also seems like i'm getting better gas mileage now, maybe b/c i'm easy on the throttle now

part throttle is a tad lean (mine starts to misfire around ~15 A/F) but WOT seems to be in check as long as 11.xxx < 11.5.

can you hear a misfire if you listen closely? or is there anyway to tell that your misfiring?

Sounds like the tune is still fairly close. If you're comfortable monitoring it and don't see any knock issues or other issues, go for it. I can't possibly guarantee that it will be okay since I haven't seen the whole tune or your car, but those a/f values are at least in the right ballpark.

i've been tuned for 14.5-16.0 partial throttle, and light load, and haven't heard any knocking. John, next time your back at home, let me know and we can go for spin, i'd love to hear your car!

Hmm...that's strange. Moving to a slightly higher octane fuel should have caused the tune to be slightly richer all around. At WOT you look plenty rich. You can actually pull fuel there. But, at partial throttle to see AFR's of 14 - 16 seems quite lean. Are you sure you weren't seeing AFR's above 14 because you were letting off the throttle at the time? Was the throttle at like 20% and were you accelerating steadily to see where the fuel goes on the map through the rpm range? Try that....

Doesn't really matter at partial throttle anyway. You won't blow up the motor at partial throttle. If the car feels good driving around town then you should be good until you touch up your tune a bit. Congrats!

i read wrong Thats interesting that it misfires!? I got my car re-tuned on tuesday and has my tuner lean it out a bit! I hear no misfires but this is all partial throttle stuff and the car is much smoother than it was! Progress is good
