Upcoming Re-tune – What Can I Change for More HP?

I bought the car with a Full Race Kit and it has been great. My baseline trap speed was 116MPH. This is with the 1st and 2nd gear PSI capped at 10lb and 3rd-6th @ 16lb. I am retuning to remove this cap in hope to break 120MPH Trap barrier.

I MUST run 93 pump and e85 is not an option for me.

Are there any easy mods/low hanging fruit for me to take advantage of? My tuner is charging me $650 for a retune because I am not the original owner of the car… what can I do other than just remove my boost cap?

My Specs:
Full Race Kit, GT3076r turbo, ARP headstuds, 1000IDs, 3" custom dual, and 6 puck Clutch. Stock internals, stock gasket, stock manifold, stock throttle body.

Do u drive to the track?
Can u drop exhuast their? (Vbands become really useful) Remove air filter or run run of those turbo guard screens. Thats a really cheap low fruit, with a lil effort.

run some sea foam or CRC valve cleaner through the intake manifold the day pryer. Follow directions should clean up your ports (maintenance is not only good for longevity, and reliability) but in keeping maximum output at a max as well.

I prefer to have HP that I can enjoy on and off the track. I daily drive my car when the weather is good. I simply use the track to prove the ability of the car (not competing with anyone on track times or anything).

I have strait pipes already... I will look into the seafoam - maybe I should just do this regularly.

Maybe the tune was setup for traction and safety of the motor. a retune might not net you anything additional without sacrificing one of those items... if the car is running strong and tuned correctly not sure why you want to retune? if you were changing injectors or fuel then i could see the benefit...

I get capping 1st gear - but 10psi is overkill. 2nd gear does not need a cap at all (IMO). Now that I am use to the power of the car, I literally am sitting around and twiddling my thumbs waiting get into 3rd...

10psi in first gear and 14psi in second gear is what I run with a 6062BB for traction reasons, which is ~400wheel@10psi
. Im sure your setup is like that for similar reasons. I think it would be safe to say on your ID1000s you are probably already maxed out as the most you are going to get is high 400s on 93.

The only reasonable gain you will achieve is if you go for meth injection.

I plan to upgrade to a gtx3076r turbo within 12 months time... maybe the fuel system would be good to get done now as I guess it would be required late down the line?

Also - not 100% sure but I think I have a OEM fuel pump. Previous own only had the car for 3 months and original owner who did the work cannot be contacted so I don't know for sure. Asking the tuner but not sure how great their records are from 2014, when work was done.

i highly doubt you have the oem fuel pump still...

swapping to a GTX turbo while already owning a GT series is pointless unless you going to E85. To stay on 93 oct... i think its wasting money upgrading from GT to GTX... if you want to increase power E85/injectors or H20/Meth injection is your best bet... otherwise you just spending money...

What are you tuning with? year of car? miles? what exhaust?
