Default Vacuum from catch can ?

Why do I see people running catch cans without a vacuum source ? I just see PVC modification and hoses to a catch can.

The catch can is for oil coming out of the pcv,you wouldn't want it pulling oil. It's there to "catch" oil.

There's a great motoiq article on this. Actually one article explaining how the catch cans work and another with a s2000-specific setup.

Read up on the purpose of a catch can, and you'll answer your own question.
