Vortech Belt coming off

Ok, I have a Vortech supercharger and for some reason the belt is walking off the pulley directley behind the blower. The belt is tightened properley and everything.

Has anyone expierenced this? If so please let me know whats up

About 3 months ago I noticed oil leaking from my vtec block, It was cracked. So I got a new one, and now I just noticed the same thing happend again.

So do you guys think that my mechanic just did not sequence the bolts down properly and that that is why the vtec plate is hairlined cracked again and the belt is walking off? The only thing is that he is a trusted mechanic and he always done great work. :(

Please give me your thoughts. I called Vortech and they said that they have one certified Vortech Instalation shop in San Diego Called JBA "They make Headers". Anyone heard of them, and should I just take my car there?

Thanks,

Jesse P

check to see if the bolts in the crank pulley are coming loose

No there not, It is really confusing

Sounds like your SC pulley may be facing the wrong direction.

^^ if that was the case then the belt would rip into shreds because it won't be aligned correctly.it would be off by about an inch and would be very noticeable.

What pulley is on the SC?

Has it always shredded belts?

Have you checked all the mounting bolts? (vtec solenoid bolts too)

Are you sure you are getting the locknut on the adjuster tight? It's a real pain to reach

My guess would be that the pulley is loose..

I will try and take some pictures so I can show you what is happening.

So is what you are saying is that if all the bracket bolts arent tightend perfectley than my belt will walk of the pulley.

And no it has not always done this. But recently the charger was taken apart. But my mechanic said that he followed all the directions in putting it back together.

I just had mine recently put back together and it's doing the same thing!

When i got down to the Dragon (after driving about 600 miles), the belt was really loose to the point that you could take it off. It was tightned at the Dragon with the help of some S2ki brothers.

After arriving home (600 miles and a couple of days of driving) it was loose again. I'm also curious to see what is causing this
