Default Vortech with emanage

Probably a stupid question, been reading for a while and coldnt find this specific answer.

I have the Vortech installed with 7.5psi pulley (stock). I also have the injector and ignition harness with the PnP harness from boomslang. Does the Vortech FMU need to be uninstalled or does the emanage utilize it?

Any info regarding the fuel delivery and emange would be helpful too!

Eh, pretty sure you need the fmu. Could be wrong though.

This is why I ask the question. I read somewhere that people had ditched the FMU, I guess it was because of the bigger injectors. I want to get 550s soon, but am out of cash. So just to verify: keep the FMU without larger injectors, ditch it with?

That's what I would suggest. The e-manage is good for adding fuel but not great at pulling it out. The moment you add larger injectors to the equation you'll just be dumping fuel. If you kept your stock fpr you can use it with larger injectors or buy an adjustable FPR.

What controls the Vortech FMU? Does the stock ECU control it with help from a piggyback or vortech controller, or does the vortech controller directly control it?

The part that comes with the supercharger kits just hides boost from the ECU. Your stock ECU controls the injectors with (help) from the e-manage. You can not upgrade to bigger injectors with just the stock ecu and vortech esm. By the way most of my knowledge comes from the Comptech kit but they are essentially both the same.

Question is do you have a e-manage blue or e-manage ultimate ?

The blue is very limited .

Another question is do you plan on upping the boost in the future?

I have the blue and I only am interested in around 350whp max. I am pretty sure I can get 310ish with my current set up. I thought about upping the psi in the future (in about a year after getting used to 300).

For 300whp you could get away with a adjustable reg and stock injectors with the blue e-manage . You just need to run more fuel pressure .

for 350 whp you would need to step up to 440cc injectors with the reg.

The problem with the Blue is it can only add fuel and you can only scale the injectors safely to about 15% over the stock injector .

The problem with the setups above is if you go beyond the 15%is part throttle driving and idling . If you go past the limits of the factory ecus long term fuel trim the car will run like crap at idle and part throttle . It will be fine WOT as the O2 sensors are not trying to correct everything.

What i would due is sell the blue and get a ultimate . The car will run much better with oversized injectors . You can add and subtract fuel plus much more .
