Hi All,

My car is making 301whp at 8800 rpms with 6.6 psi of boost.

I'm very happy with it except for one annoying thing:
Question I have is concerning the amount of oil coming out of the blow off valve breather (which is a small k&n filter). I took it for a decent drive on Saturday and when I came home to open the hood there was oil on the fan cover along with some that had dripped down to the plastic covers which run underneath.

I've been reading about Krank Vents and oil catch cans but I'm confused. What do you think would be the best solution for this? Both, one or the other, or none? How about I replace the filter with a catch can?

Really not sure why vortech designed this without taking into consideration this issue. Is it because of emissions testing and EPA concerns? State where I live has this testing once every couple of years.

Any thoughts would be great.

Start with the crank vent (or you could try a supra pcv). On my comptech kit when I had still had my s2k I had similar problem with it dumping excessive blow by into the intake. The crank vent solved the problem for me and oil consumption dropped 75%. I only used the valve on the the pcv line, not the front. Some do it this way, some swear by doing it on the intake inlet and pcv.

It sounds like the best way to do this is to use the Supra TT PCV.

I had the same problem on mine. It was the oil from the filter that was doing it. Once the K&N dried up a bit it stopped. I also removed the small filter on the BOV.

I used the suprs PCV, it plugs right in.

I was thinking it might be from the k&n as the oil does not seem to smell/look like royal purple.

I'm doing the supra pcv this week I hope. I've decided to not drive the car until I do this. God I miss it!

What did you put in place of the filter on the BOV...nothing.....?

Very nice, i just had mine installed last weekend...sold off my Greddy kit for the vortech, no regrets :D
