Default Vortech Upgrade Questions

I have a 2006 with the Vortech V3 SCi trim kit. It is tuned with the Hondata reflash included with the kit and running at ~8.5 PSI (4.5" pulley, I believe). The kit includes RC 650cc injectors. It put down 335 on a Dynojet a few days ago. Other mods are an ACT pressure place with an AP1 disc and flywheel and an Invidia Q300 exhaust with HFC.

Now to the questions: I've decided it's time to get a Flashpro and turn up the boost. How high can I go before it becomes a major investment, and what pulley and other upgrades do I need to get there? I don't mind spending a little money, but I would like a good bang for the buck. I know that I'm looking at a new MAP sensor if I up the boost beyond what it is currently, but I haven't found good, consistent info on how high I can go without worrying about maxing out the compressor or breaking engine/driveline parts, etc.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can share.

your blower's max efficiency is at 53000 rpm i believe. Therefore the smallest size pulley you can put on your blower without overspinning it at a 8000 redline is a 3.3" pulley

refer to this thread for more info or if your redline is different etc.

you may need bigger injectors as well ID 1000ccs would be a good investment. and yes you will need an aftermarket map sensor if you go above 10 psi

your motor should be able to handle it

Cool, thanks. Any idea what kind of power I'm looking at with about a 3.5" pulley?

I made 432 whp with 3.4in pulley on a V2. A shy less than that is my guess.

Looking into the same kit. What fuel pump do you have?

I am aiming 350-360whp. Got ID1000's, FBM 340 fuel pump, 1 step colder injectors than stock, Hondata 4 bar map sensor.

Looking to run 11 psi(3.9" pulley). Want to stay on 91 w/o detonation problems.

What octane are you running when you made 335whp and what tq did you make? Can you tell me about the kit before I purchase it(any tips, reliability, overall design, likes and dislikes)?

I run a V2 and I believe SgtDuracell has V2 as well.

Stock fuel pump currently. Do I need to upgrade the pump if I up the boost any more?

I was running 91 octane and it was 89 degrees at the time. No torque readings on my printout for some reason, but I might be able to get them from the shop. Overall, the kit has been great. Instructions were great and there were no major issues on install. I've had it for almost 4 years now. As I recall, I got it soon after the V3 came out and they must've had some issues with bearings because I went through 2 sets really quick (weeks). They fixed them under warranty and the 3rd set has been fine. Zero problems since then. The extra torque is great around town and on the freeway, making it so you don't have to shift all the time. It pulls hard and smooth all the way to the rev limiter. Let's just say that I would get rid of the car rather than have to drive it with stock power.

Is v3 sci self lube?

U can up boost to around 12-14 on pump gas with 340 pump and id1000 injectors. Aim for 400 whp on a Jet. But don't get caught up with numbers. Oh and get a new map sensor.

Yes, it's the self lube.

Thanks for the advice. I don't really care about the numbers. I love the way it drives right now and extra power is simply icing on the cake. I only ask about numbers to help figure out if I'm gaining enough power to justify the cost of everything that has to be done.

Any good ideas on where to buy the parts?

I've got a good deal on the Flashpro lined up already, so I should be good there.

MAP sensor $99.

I found the ID 1000s and an Aeromotive 340 pump for $600. I might be able to knock a few bucks off of that. Sound like a decent deal?

Recommendations for pulley size to stay on pump gas? Where is a good place to buy it and the belt?
