wastegates
I am having issues with boost consistency.. I have a ultragate 38 (looks old) and while I was the dyno I was having inconsistency in boost. Found a couple things and it seemed to have went away. We made sure there was no boost leak in the intercooler system. I can see normal boost most of the time, but sometimes it will only peak to 6psi and I am using a boost controller as well... So here is my question.. Is the Tial wastegate inlet and outlet locations the same as the ultragate?? I have a recirculated tube going to to my wastegate outlet and really dont have any room to change the location.
I have the older WG that comes with the inline kit, and with the larger turbo it does mine creeps up so we we use the ems to control the boost by rpm. I am pretty sure the flanges are the same but you may want to look at the new turbosmart one inline uses now. Maybe call them. It is a 38 but suppose to flow like a Tial 44. Good luck, I may need to get this soon as well.
Yeah, I have the Ultra Gate 38 but the top is a different color (brown) not black or blue. I am really not sure what my problem is.. I changed the plumbing of my boost controller to a single port setup rather than a 2 port setup.. I am starting to think that the tru-boost solenoid valve is messing up. I upped the boost setting value by 1 and everything is back to normal. We will see as time goes by.
