What exhaust are you using with your FI car?

I'm going to whole hartedly, but respectfully, disagree with you based on my personal testing and the thousands of dollars I've spent learning. All things equal, the larger the exhaust piping the louder the exhaust will be. If one has a turbo on their car (like you do) that actually acts as a muffler, and a 3 inch diameter exhaust is nowhere near as loud on a turbo car as when compared to a supercharged car or N/A (as I have personally experienced).
Probably not a bad idea. The OEM exhaust will support as much as 500whp (supercharged) which is a 60mm to dual 50mm. The Tanabe Touring Medallion for the S2000 is a great option. It is 60mm to dual 50mm, it's fairly cost effective and sounds good. The Fujitsubo Legalis R it similar but a bit more expensive. If you plan to make more than around 500whp the 60mm exhaust could start to be restrictive. Generally speaking as the piping diameter goes up so does the sound level.[/QUOTE
the piping size has nothing to do with the noise level. Noise level is all about the size and type of the muffler and resonators. i have a custom full 3 inch exhaust with no cat. I run a straight through 3 inch hks carbon ti muffler out back and two vibrant straight through 3 inch oval reanators in the middle on the car. The exhaust is pretty quite. If you want to be super quiet just run the stock exhaust with a test pipe. This is a great setup with a supercharger running on pump fuel91/93 octane.

After having 4 exhausts and over 11 years experience with the s2000, I also disagree.
You may be able to create a 3" exhaust that is "quite" but in general, most if not all 3" systems on the market suffer from drone and are louder than comparable designed system with smaller pipe work.
So when you take into consideration 3" systems are louder, drone more, can effect bhp/torque & boost pressure/flow....and are heavier. The right sized piping for your application should be chosen, not just the biggest. IMO

If I were you I'd get a stock exhaust and do the smallest UK mod, also remove the Cat.
Obviously riceball is talking about his turbo exhaust. If he put a 60mm exhaust on his turbo car it would be even quieter.

I currently have a custom exhaust I bought about 2 weeks ago, it's a 3" OD straight pipe back to dual 2.75" split with Magnaflow 18" round mufflers. it is a touch louder than the Invidia N1 was with the turbo.
Supercharged, I feel stock, Invida Q300 or Greddy SE are the only quiet exhausts you'll find.

I’m currently running stock exhaust with a 25ish mm UK mod on stock exhaust while supercharged and love it. Quiet enough to where all you hear is supercharger whistle at low rpm but sounds good throughout the rev range.

As far as a single the T1R 70R-EM is about the quietest single out there. At highway speeds it great and when you open the car up it freaking awesome. Sorry no video but Ill bet youtube has a video. Best of luck on this. Later BD
