When would you need dual wastegates?

Default When would you need dual wastegates?

My research says you only need dual wastegates when trying to maintain a lower psi.
the kit I picked up came with a dual setup but only one gate. I’m thinking about only running one gate and eliminating the second part of the down pipe for a full turbo back 3” exhaust. Thoughts?

That's not a wastegate connection. That is for a exhaust cutout valve.

typically dual gates are on divided manifolds... but i have seen two gates vs one large one on open manis as well for lower boost control.

I’m not overly concerned with creep up from the spring. I’ll be running a boost controller for a couple of settings and it’ll be tuned all of the way through. I’ll assume they sell a vband cap for something like this? Thanks.

Weird thing is that they’re both setup for 44mm gates. I can see dual 38’s, but this is just over kill.

Where is the second gate located?

I only see one outlet before the turbo. Is that tube connected to the downpipe not a recirculated dump tube?

^^^ This i only see one gate placement on the manifold

could you have 2 seperate wastegate pipes that you run one or other, one plumbed back into the exhaust and one vented to atmosphere, maybe ?
