This is a picture of my mate's 1969 Holden Monaro 'GTS' (it is a 'beast' of a car) and my 'red' ITR!!

I love cruising in GTS with him....with the V8 & music PUMPING and with the 'pillarless' windows down!!

Where does this "HOLDEN" brand come from? They're supposed to release a Holden version of some car in the states next year.

Holden is GM in Australia. The current Holden Monaro is going to be the resurection of the GTO nameplate in the US.

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but that '69 Holden Monaro GTS looks a helluva lot like the '69 Pontiac GTO (Judge). Holden is an Aussie marque that is a subsidiary of GM I believe. At any rate, the new 2003 Pontiac GTO coming stateside very soon is indeed manufactured by Holden... it's the current HSV. Here's the link:

The specs are quite impressive... 5.7L Aluminum V8 (LS1) 'Callaway Tuned' pumping out 400Bhp.

Isn't the Monaro based on one of the Opel's from Europe? I know the 4 door was based on the Omega a few years back. Sorry, I'm not familar enough with Holden and, well, I'm too lazy to surf for my answer...

Rear wheel drive is, in fact, rare these days in US brand cars. It seems to be coming back into vogue here, though (thank goodness)...

Looks like a late 60's early 70's Buick Skylark, or GNX.

Looks like a late 60's or early 70's Chevy Nova to me.
