Ballade Sports S2000 Roll Hoop Harness Bar
#22
I am way late to this but could not help adding a perspective.
Many people autocross, where there is virtually no risk of a rollover or crash of any kind (if the club running said event has any sort of solid safety built into their course design and event planning). It is VERY advantageous to be solidly held in your seat and not be supporting yourself by the steering wheel with your arms in hard corners so you can focus on steering. The S2k has pretty good seats, but I find that my elbow issues are still amplified driving the S2k in autox due to this issue. I would never run a harness on the street (cant imagine why anyone would want to even if it was not dangerous ... it doesnt look cool nor is it comfortable) and do not run the S2k on a track. So none of the concerns mentioned on this post apply to that situation. Now, will I spend big money and time trying to fit a harness in the S2K? Probably not unless I was tracking it and was adding all the other equipment.
Sorry for the necropost, but many people tend to forget there are more applications for something than they see for themselves. My previous autox car had no support seat wise. I ran a cheap harness fed over the seat back (not safe for any sort of impact) for the sole purpose of holding me tight in the seat during autox runs. The harness got shoved under the back of the seat afterwards and I ran the stock seat belt. Worked great for my application.
