Hmm these look interesting...
I found this browsing the web...carbon fiber pistons. I have never heard such a thing, and apparently they are made for the S2000. Has anyone seen these?
When choosing a piston for an engine, there is a common saying that lighter is better. If the piston rings can somehow be eliminated, we can minimize friction. With these common facts in mind, ATS & ACROSS has created a piston that is 60% of an aluminum piston's weight and retains 1/20th of aluminum's expansion rate. The carbon piston is capable of higher levels of revolutions with plenty of efficiency and can change the way we build engines forever. |
its carbon, not carbon fiber, very different stuff

Yeah I guess carbon fiber wouldn't make much sense. Either way, did they ever actually produce these? |
It looks like an S2K with ITBs in the back ground :D

all the thermal properties could be pretty good too. are there any race series who's rules would allow these (ALMS, F1, SuperGT)?

I won't be the first to buy them.
