First picture looks like you used too much of the highlight/shadow adjustment in photoshop. That tool should be used very little if any IMO. It gives your image a very harsh feel. I'm not so sure about the red sign. Your eyes are drawn to it more than the car almost. You should always be aware of the background when you shoot. You don't want some background object stealing attention away from the subject.

2nd shot needs to have the white balance corrected.

Some great photos... but you can't teach someone how to have an eye for composition. I feel a lot of the questions asked are loaded. It's like trying to sum up all the hours I spent in class and the darkroom into one post or thread, it just won't happen. There are so many things to factor in, in photography. I don't think I've seen anyone mention anything about white balance, light metering, depth of field... etc.

The biggest mistake I see people making is blowing the contrast up... and ignoring the midtones.
