My First Mod - Moddiction Anvil Shift Knob - Review and Interior Shots
The shift knob on the S is pretty good, but I wanted to make the car my own. I knew that I wanted to lower the position of the shift knob to allow for a more natural feel. I'm 6'4" so I have pretty lengthy arms and my arm feels naturally "right" if my forearm extends basically straight forward from the armrest. I looked around for something that could fix this and heard pretty good things about the moddiction shift knobs.
Most similar ball knobs were aluminum or titanium, and this was one of only a few that I found in stainless steel (more durable and heavier). The weight feels really good driving it around.
In retrospect, I wish I could have tried the anvil 2 and the anvil ball side-by-side to pick, but I'm happy with my purchase.
Pictured below it is in its lowest position.
Here is a height comparison with the stock shift knob in neutral position.
Here is a comparison for the 1-to-3 shift.

Nice pictures are review, very clean interior also. One word of advice, the metal will get very hot during the summer months, especially if you don't keep a sunshade on the car. You can burn your hand if you aren't careful (I have the same shift knob in my car).

Very nice multiple exposure photos! Highlights the length of the shift throws.
Yep, the metal knobs get hot in the sun. I have the "CR" knob on mine. I sometimes just put a hat over it if parked in the sun. Probably more for the cosmetics but I've convinced myself it feels and shift's better. I filled the yellow painted shift pattern with black paint since I don't have CR-yellow stitching on the boot, wheel etc.
Our cars are not designed to have a drink cup in the console and shift at the same time. Short levers exacerbate the problem.
Car also has the CR radio cover which is less glaring than the OEM silver cover. My '06 interior is all boring-black other than the door and knob.

I had the Anvil for a long time, I think it was 9 years. Switched to the Anvil 2 last year and love it. I enjoy the shortened throw and the weight. Good choice.
