Default night shooting

can someone tell me the trick to taking night shots? do you HAVE to have a high end SLR super camera or something? or is there certain lighting situations you have to be in?

and of course i mean car pictures at night. cuz i see some awesome ones. and i'd like to know how its done. thanks!

you dont need a high end slr
i used a mid range sony camera for most of my pics
as long as you have the long exposure time you should be good

You also need a tripod if you don't want it to look like you took your picture during an earthquake.

this and if you can control white balance, change it to incandescent.

try to avoid yellow lighting as much as possible.

andersayz,

If you have a relatively simple digital camera keep it for taking snaps of your car during the day, and then get a used 35mm SLR for when you want to experiment and take photographs.

1. Pick up a used 35mm AF SLR for $50 - $100.

2. Buy some good Kodak or Fuji 400 or 800 ISO film.

3. Use a tripod (Good advice for film or digital cameras)

If you want digital images, simply have your film developed & burned to a Photo CD by your local camera shop.
