Sunday desert spin
So what was your route? Where was this picture taken?
One of the best roads around in the immediate San Diego vicinity is Highland Valley Road, just east of the Pomarado Road exit just north of Rancho Bernardo. Nice if you don't want to make a longer drive to get some great twisties.
Our San Diego S2000 Owners Meet last July went up to Palomar using the south route up and then we took the east route down. That road is awesome!
Also check out Banner Grade, going east out of Julian towards the desert.

cool photos! thanks for the post.. i took my family to anza borrego this past weekend too!! but i took them in my CJ7- and we went across the desert, not on the roads! what a great place. we found 2 slot canyons and lots of great off-roading. only one place that was too dangerous to take the CJ- deep ruts at the peek of a hill- several where i had to have a spotter help me through. your photos of the stook out there are perfect- the very old desert contrasted with the very modern stook!
