Quote: But other than for tracking it, whats the point of it. I mean, when i see tow hooks, all i can imagine is those cheap slammed POS civics that have them.

I want a tow hook because I can't use it on trackdays now . I can't use the OEM front tow hook with my Amuse bumper .

Question... I see people having rear towhooks so flush to their bumper, if you notice the front, the mounting hole is recessed back so the extension on the tow hook is necessary, however for the back it isnt as its pretty close to the bumper. How do people get it so flush to the rear bumper if most of the towhooks out there come with the mounting extension... If I just attach say a Gtmotoring hook to the back it will stick out far out. Am I missing something here?

Also what is the thread pitch on the front and rear mounts. M12X1.5 or 1.75?

Look like flush here..

Don't the fold down tow hooks flap around? I guess you can tighten the bolt where it pivots, but then that would require you to loosen it if you ever need it.

Here are some pics of mine, I wanted to have a functional tow hook in the front for track days, but I didnt like the options available, and I didnt want it sticking out or being too obvious. I welded up a quick bracket and mated it to an ebay tow hook to make a custom sliding hook. It was inspired in the tow hooks on the Porsche GT3 RSR racecars that extend out when needed. Normally it sits behind the bumper line, but I can pull it out and it will stick out quite a bit to be used.

unless you track your car on the reg, tow-hooks are ghey and make it look like you need easy access to a tow-hook cause your shit breaks down all the time.
