Default Mugen rep hardtop sound deadening help?

Hey all, I've barely found anything about sound deadening a hardtop for s2k or any roadster forum for that matter. Noico closed cell foam 18sqft for 30$ and sacrifice some lower back pain so I'm giving it a try. Am I suppose to have pieces overlap or close together as possible?
I spoke to a sound/audio specialist and it's said that any gaps/holes will be very bad and make the entire process null. If this is the case I can go back and paste over the holes if needed.

If anyone else has had experience with this type of subject let me know. I also will be doing the floors with anti-vibration material before the closed cell foam material. Doors too

I have pictured a piece that overlaps and pieces that do not.

I just had the same idea. I am going to go all out since I got the rep for a really good price. I got Second Skins Damplifier Pro and the Mega Zorbe. My strategy was to use the outlines of the indentations as a template and see if that would be good enough. I'm interested to see your thoughts on your results.

Good Luck!!
