Passenger Foot Rest Mod

Passenger Foot Rest Mod
My girl is short. I had her in the passenger side of an 04 today, and she complained about the hump on the left of the footwell. Her legs are too short to reach the natural foot rest, even when the seat is slid far forward, so her left leg was on the hump. Has anyone created an foot rest extender for the passenger side? I'm obviously trying to find a way to keep her from complaining and willing to do longer drives.
I thought of this solution after we left the dealer lot and I didn't have material to work with, so I can't really test it out.

I'm not entirely sure that's how you're supposed to sit! I don't think it's a dedicated footrest, it's really just the end of the foot well. I think putting big blocks in the foot well will be pretty risky if you were ever involved in a crash.
How short is she? It sounds like you are describing a child - if so, check your owners manual this really is NOT a car recommended to take kids about in. (Not sure if by 'my girl' you mean your daughter or your girlfriend - I don't mean any disrespect!)
I have an understanding with my wife that's it's not really a 'passengers car'. Top always down etc...

Girlfriend. She's 5'3", so her left leg sits squarely on the hump on the left side of the passenger's footwell, and the right one much lower on the natural floorboard. We both like to drive top down, and she loves the seats otherwise, much better than my miata. But I can see why she's complaining about the footwell, so I'm hoping I can find a way to do something about it.

Search in the Electronic section for footwell sub and see how guys mount their sub in the footwell area, maybe you can modify that idea and make somethings similar (minus the sub - unless you like the bass to pound) for your girl to rest her foot on.
