Upgrading to 06 Radio Door
#22
Just did this. Took about 5 minutes to get the pin out. The wire hanger was exactly small enough in diameter to go through the center of the pin. Took a while to get it out.
Also when I put the whole assembly back in the car (door, trim and all) I found it easier to put the top (vent) part in first and push the bottom in. Tried the bottom first but it is hard to line up the bottom clips.

I just put in a CR "carbon fiber" type door in my 09. I found some coat hangers are thicker than others. I just broke off a piece and worked it. Once the pin was out a little, I used a needle nose pliers to get it out the rest of the way.

Since I recently did thus project as well (CR door into my 06) I will chime in and say that I couldn't get the pins out for the life of me until I wd40'd the holes where the pins are and used pliers to grab the hanger so it didn't slip out of my hand.

The instructions worked well for me. Did this last year but I'm pretty sure I used a thick-ish coat hanger to get the pins out and a roll pin punch (the proper tool) to replace. I installed one of the "CR" doors to blend better with my all-black interior.

I just did the CR door swap this week. I don't know what they meant by pre-load on the spring, I just installed it as I figured the parts would fit. Everything seems to work fine.
