Default What color are original mats supposed to be for my car?

I have a 2001 with a red interior. It has red floor mats now but I don't think they are factory issue since the driver's side has only one hole to lock it in place and they aren't the same shade of red. I am thinking that black OEM ones might look nicer in my car but I was just curious if red interiors always came with red mats or if it varies.

My first year Silverstone/red Canadian car came with black mats.

How low can you get the AP1 shift knob? I notice I can't see your lock nut. did you lower it as low as it can go? I'm thinking of doing the same if possible. Lower the nut til it disappears into the shift boot.

It was like that when I bought it earlier this year. I just checked and the lock nut is as low as it can go and the boot does hide it. I just thought that was how it is supposed to be.

Black mats would really compliment the interior, I have the reverse but it works well.

That means I have some room to lower mine then. Thanks for checking

Yes they do actually complement the red interior well. I would just really like a matching red mat set and then swop them out with the black ones every 6 months or so
Nice wheel by the way! They've done a good job re-covering it. I like Mugen shift knob. How does it compare to the stock AP1?

Thanks. The wheel is from Guardian Designs and I really love the larger diameter slightly lower shift knob coming from a stock leather wrapped knob then onto a CR style shift knob. I have a countersunk larger diameter shift knob in my other car and love the feel, had to do the Mugen in this case though.
