Will seats from a 2006 fit without modification in a 2001?
I'm new to this forum but am a long time S2000 owner (2001 Silverstone over Red, owned since 2002)...would love to "upgrade" the seats with a bit more cushion as my advancing age dictates a bit softer "rear end" ride. I understand that the 2006 and newer model years had additional cushioning and support in the seats...is it a viable project to put these in my car? Looking for the red leather and trust that the red will be a close match color-wise to my car, but am more concerned about the fitment with slide rails and other interior components.
Thanks for your help! |
The driver sides are exactly the same, but the issue will be the passenger side.
The 06+ passenger floor is different than the -05. So you need new rails to match the earlier year s2000s. |

My wife made me a cushion 5" in diameter and 12" long that fits between the bottom and back of the seat. Works for my back.

2004-2005 seats should bolt up on an 01 no problem.

You could also just take the rail off your car and put it on the 06+ cushions. There isn't a difference in the actual seat cushions just the rails (I speak in terms of the way it all bolts up)

Weird, I swapped 2008 seats in my 2004 with no issues at all.
