Registration Deadline: August 28, 2023
Early Bird Discount Registration Deadline: July 20, 2023

Registration is open! Grab your early bird discount and join us for a trip to lovely Watkins Glen, NY, where we have put together three amazing drive routes for your enjoyment. Immerse yourself in an environment like no other and share three and a half days with like-minded sports car enthusiasts in a driver's paradise.

There are few places with stronger ties to early automobile racing than historic Watkins Glen, NY. And that's a big part of why we considered this a "must experience" location for one of our Adventures. They raced in the streets through downtown of the tiny hamlet of Watkins Glen way back in the day (1948!) and that original course is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Today they race at a dedicated road course affectionally called "The Glen" but officially known as Watkins Glen International. Some of the biggest names in Indy Car, NASCAR and even some F1 drivers have raced here. And we will be dropping in there for parade laps too!

But that's not the only draw to this region. The gorgeous Finger Lakes region of New York is full of natural beauty and stunning vistas. The lakes were formed by ancient glaciers which carved out the U-shaped valleys tens of thousands of years ago, and then retreated leaving behind the depressions which filled with water and are now a joy to the eye and home to wildlife. The Gorge Trail is one of the most breathtaking scenes of all and worth all 1.5 miles and 832 stone steps (pro tip: walk *down* the trail!).

What's Included
  • A fun-filled itinerary of sights to see on sinuous roads winding through truly beautiful country, many of which will put to good use the performance capabilities of your car.
  • Happy hour registration meet & greet gathering – soft drinks and beer provided by your hosts
  • Event logo'd wearable (example: shirt, hoodie, or light jacket)
  • Event logo'd vehicle/refrigerator/toolbox magnet
  • Keepsake-grade printed event program
  • Nametag and lanyard
  • After-event hardcover photo memory book created with photos taken during the event
  • Giveaway items provided by event sponsors
  • Membership in the OA Frequent Adventurer program
  • And the priceless part: Memories of an awesome roadtrip Adventure

About Your Hosts
Overdrive Adventures is the brainchild of Jason Hight and Roseanne Murphy. You may already know us individually as 14U2NV or 4U2NV and RMurphy in various online S2000 forums. For at least a decade, Roseanne and Jason had been creating group drives in their respective geographic regions about 2000 miles apart and with no awareness that each other existed. But because of their shared love of a particular sportscar – the Honda S2000 – their paths were destined to cross at a club event and they became friends. When changes in Jason’s employment brought him to Los Angeles, the two collaborated on their first major gathering together in 2018 – a 4.5 day driving event based in the Santa Monica mountains and showcasing the best of Southern California car culture – and it was clear there would be many more events in their future together.

Jason’s expertise in all things graphics related, as well as his fondness for staring at maps and finding all of the twistiest paved roads, make him well suited for creating the look and feel of every Overdrive Adventure trip, program, map, and logo. Roseanne’s attention to detail and acute sensitivity to all things human (need for food, potty breaks, fun, and safety) make her well-suited for keeping the drives on course, on time, comfortable, and safe. Both of them love their cars, love to drive, and love to share that passion with others.

The year 2020 was one of contemplation and soul searching on many levels. And it was in that time that Roseanne and Jason decided to begin the journey which would become Overdrive Adventures. Jason’s past experience with car clubs gave him a desire to make drives which would cover the entire country, not just one specific region. Discarding the imaginary limitations and old structures, both Jason and Roseanne wanted to go places they had never been and discover the beauty of new locations. Drives which they both have always wanted to do have become the foundation of their destinations for Overdrive Adventures. Calling on advice from friends from all over the country, they have created their dream list of destinations to enjoy in top-down fashion. And since 2021, they have been inviting everyone with the same love of journeys and driving to come join them.

So come join us! Everyone deserves to enjoy some Overdrive Adventures.

What's an Overdrive Adventures event like? Check out our video of the Avenue of Giants Adventure photo memory book and our photo slideshow from our May 2023 Adventure in coastal northern California.

Adventure attendees are shipped a hard cover photo memory book after each Adventure to look back on and enjoy “down the road” for years to come. See what one looks like!

And here's a photo slide show with highlights of fun moments in the Adventure. From scenery, to cars, to people, to food, to tour-thru trees, to shenanigans, and amazing sea rocks shaped like a ship, this slideshow covers it all.

See you in September?
We have one more Adventure coming up for 2023 and it’s in the gorgeous Finger Lakes region of NY state. Watkins Glen is as beautiful as you have heard and definitely worth the trip. So if you are anywhere in the northeastern US or southeastern Canada, come join us on an Adventure in September. https://www.overdriveadventures.com/...east-adventure

What about 2024? Yeah, we have plans for that too.
Check us out at www.OverdriveAdventures.com.

Still on the fence?
Here's a little incentive: DRIVE THE GLEN!

Part of our Northeast Adventure will include a visit to the world famous Watkins Glen International Raceway where you will have the opportunity to drive 3 laps around this amazing track in your own personal vehicle following an official WGI pace car.

Gorgeous countryside, beautiful roads, and an opportunity to drive on a premier racecourse which has hosted some of the most famous names in racing history.

Default Overdrive Expectations: Notes from a Newbie

"Overdrive Adventures events are wonderful scenery for the passenger, and an intense all-immersive driving experience for the driver." -- RMurphy

TLDR. The take-away: it can be intense, but it's a blast!

Jess Gado joined us in Wisconsin for her very first group drive experience ever, so we asked her if she would be willing to share some of her thoughts. As someone totally new to group drives in a more spirited fashion, we thought she might have a unique perspective which those of us who have been doing these sorts of things for decades simply do not have anymore. And she has kindly agreed. So here is her feedback about attending an Overdrive Adventures event for the first time and as someone totally new to group-drive events.

Overdrive Expectations: Notes from a Newbie
by Jess Gado

Participating in an Adventure with Overdrive Adventures is one of the most exhilarating experiences you will have. As someone new to performance driving with my sports car I was not fully prepared for the endurance I would need for the drive. Here are a few of my lessons learned.
  1. This is not a leisure drive. You will need to be mentally ready for 100% focus on your driving. Be prepared to remove all distractions while you are driving.
  2. Before you join an Overdrive Adventures event, get comfortable with your vehicle.
    • Practice driving on curvy roads at speeds above suggested posted speeds.
    • Build trust in your car, it can handle being driven aggressively. That is what it was designed to do.
    • Spend time getting to know how your car reacts under certain situations, like braking, speeding up, taking curves.
    • Practice braking before the curve. If you feel like you are hitting a curve too fast, downshift and/or brake as much as you need to prior to the curve so that you are allowing your car to glide into the curve once you hit it.
    • Consider doing an autocross course to increase your experience.
  3. Map the route on your mobile device so that you can follow along with the course and know what to expect around the next bend.
  4. Make sure to mount your mobile device and secure all items in the cab of the car. You don’t want to be distracted by a tipping drink or a sliding phone.
  5. Speak up; use the walkie talkies to communicate to the rest of the drivers so that they know if you are falling behind or need to slow down for whatever reason.
  6. Be respectful of your fellow drivers, leave a safe following distance and make sure you are always paying attention.
  7. Be prepared for driving all day.
    • You are going to be part of a group, there will be three designated rest stops along the route.
    • Do what you need to do so that you do not need to make additional stops throughout the day.
    • Bring along what you need to make the drive comfortable and enjoyable. Consider packing drinks, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
  8. You are there to have a great time, so make sure you have fun! If you are experiencing concerns during the drive, make sure you share them so that they can be addressed.
  9. Take the time to get to know your fellow drivers, they love their cars as much as you love yours and are a wealth of knowledge and experience. Participate in the happy hours and dinners; they are just as much fun as the drives.
  10. Lastly, this will be the most fun you have had with your car; make sure you enjoy every minute of the Adventure. Take photos, share stories and truly be in the moment.

We had an absolute blast up in Watkins Glen, NY, for the Northeast Adventure! And we thank everyone who joined us on this great Adventure in the beautiful finger lakes region. The excitement of a few laps around Watkins Glen International Raceway and then the serenity of the quiet surrounding countryside and gorges were such wonderful extremes. We just missed the autumn colors which were so obviously just about to pop in only a few more days up there, but it was still an amazingly beautiful experience. For sure, we definitely cannot complain about the weather! We were prepared for rain, but it seemed like Mother Nature smiled upon us and gave us a little bubble of perfect autumn weather. Rain stopped the morning or our arrival and did not return until mid-morning of our departure day.

We look forward to next year's events:

Sedona Southwest Adventure
Sedona, Arizona
April 15-18, 2024

White Mountains Adventure
Lincoln, New Hampshire
June 17-20, 2024

Kings Canyon Adventure
Kings Canyon & Sequoia National Parks
Three Rivers, California
September 16-19, 2024

Sorry... no TikTok for us. *shrug* Not our thing.

We are non-denominational car lovers and we welcome all sports cars to our events. We just happen to own S2000s ourselves which we use to lead most of the drives. We hope you can join us in the future in whatever fun vehicle you want to bring on a great 3.5 day driving Adventure.

And here are just a few pictures from the Northeast Adventure.
