06 s2000 getting f20
So I got a f20 and I'm looking at buying a buddies 06 s2000 the battery caught fire so I'm pulling the motor and want to put my f20 in it I have the transmission and everything is there anything that I'll run into that can get crazy?

I'm missing the connection with the battery and the engine not working. What's wrong with the 2006 engine? You'll probably need a myriad of things unless the 2006 ECU will run the F20C engine. I'm guessing you'll need sensors. Or the ECU from your F20 engine and a bunch of sensors and other stuff. The 2006 engine is DBW and the throttle and cruise control cabling are different.

^What he said. This isn't going to just be a direct swap due to the difference between DBW 06+ cars and non DBW 00-05 cars. I know a number of sensors are different as well. If there are salvageable parts from the burned motor I guess it is technically possible but you have some things to figure out. Namely making the F20 DBW, and making sure all the sensors are correct. Not sure the 06+ ecu will run the f20 correctly either.

Also, if you're in the US, this is an illegal swap per federal law.
"For light-duty vehicles, installation of a light-duty engine into a different light-duty vehicle by any person would be considered tampering unless the resulting vehicle is identical (with regard to all emission related parts, engine design parameters, and engine calibrations) to a certified configuration of the same or newer model year as the vehicle chassis"

Would be an easier process to do an LS swap then to turn a DBW car into a cable car. Too many sensors and nannies on the '06+ to time travel backwards with an F20 install. Good luck either way.
