Default any owners w/ T1R-70mm dual EM-spec exhaust?

I am looking for a new exhaust because I hate the drone of the exhaust that I have now (63mm T1R dual sparrow). While I am inclined to think they should sound similar, The mufflers on the EM-spec exhaust look huge compared to the little cans on my 63mm dual sparrow.

Then theres this video, which seems very drone-free:

Soooo... anyone have the EM-spec 70mm dual from T1R, and able to give some (admittedly subjective) feedback on the 3K-4K drone?

You're not going to enjoy the 70mm if you already dislike your 63mm I loved how my 70mm sounded, but the booming on the freeway was absolutely awful. I only ran it with a 63m HFC since I didn't keep it long enough to try out the 70mm test pipe. It also set off my neighbor's car alarm during cold starts in the morning. Was on the car for 4 days before I traded it for a different system.

Drone is nearly impossible to pick up in a video from what I have found.

Ugh. Well glad I asked.

If you read through this thread, you'll find all kinds of posts about it being 'pretty quiet' and 'no drone'

It makes me hate shopping for an exhaust for this car.

I spoke to a guy with one after getting rid of mine and he loved his so maybe my ears are just sensitive? While cruising on the freeway it felt like there was a constant pressure in my ears, just super uncomfortable. I traded it+cash to my buddy for one of the Gernby/Urge designs mid-pipes with a Magnaflow single and never looked back. I highly recommend the Urge system as it's drone free (far from quiet, but no annoying pulsing on the hwy), but it's far from cheap. You could run the mid-pipe (which is the important part) with your existing T1R mufflers though.

Its only "drone free" on a flat road between 55-65 MPH with no wind or any other reason to dip into the throttle even 1mm further.

And the only reason its drone free at that RPM is because you've already gone deaf from how much noise and drone it makes in literally ANY other driving scenario.

I've had a dual and now have a single. I love the way they sound. And I pack ear plugs for any long drive...and I really only drive the car when I'm DTF (down to frollic).

I wouldn't love it if it were on my DD. But my hearing is probably more sensitive than others'. No idea how TF people describe it as drone free. Maybe they're used to sardine can K swapped civics...or maybe their rap name would be Mostly Def.

There aren't any drone free 70mm "free-flowing" exhausts. If there are...they likely cost SIGNIFICANT money.

There is a huge difference in drone if you are using a cat/HFC or a test pipe, with a cat its almost unbearable.

When I was shopping for an aftermarket exhaust the honest vendors were forthright. "All aftermarket exhausts drone." Some less than others.

Dual exhaust is more prone to drone due to the different harmonics of the two pipes resonating at slightly different frequencies. Drone is the interference (for want of a better word) of two slightly different frequencies. Sine waves get into and out of sync. Years ago there were four of us with Triumph 650 motorcycles who rode to work together every morning at Fort Benning. Same gearing, same tires, minuscule differences in engine rpm. The drone pulsing was audible to everyone including the MPs who looked up long before we got to the gates. Anyone with a twin engine (or more likely) or boat is aware of how the engine vibrations have the same effect when slightly out of sync. And the expense of engine synchronizers.

I personally owned both exhaust systems.

i had the dual T1r 63mm and that exhaust had the worst drone i have ever heard before on an s2000. switch to t1r 70r-em Single and was a night and day difference. immediately felt more power in my butt dyno. drone was minimal easily controllable with throttle position. and the exhaust note was perfect.
