Default AP1 OEM Lip Weatherstripping

Recently I ordered the OEM AP1 Front Lip from hardtopguy. Today I was just scanning the website and I saw that they have a new item:

http://hardtopguy.com/store/product....&cat=25&page=1

Is this necessary to install the Lip? I know the official instructions don't require it, but would it be better?

Thanks.

It would be best to use it. With any front lip it will be up against the front bumper, and will vibrate and leave marks over time. With the weather stripping it will prevent that so if you ever take it off, you won't have any marks from the lip left over.

A brand new front lip should always come with a weatherstrip already attached to the lip depending on color of the lip it should either be grayish or black color.

When my friends ordered their lips one for a ap1 and another for a ap2 they already had weather stripping attached to the top portion of the lip that rests against the bumper. Mines came attached with on already.

That part from hardtop guy is only useful if your replacing one that got damaged on ur current lip. But since you just ordered urs from hardtop guy it should have one already attached.

The lip that I got from hardtopguy already had the weatherstripping since it was OEM. That is just replacement for your current OEM lip or if anyone has a rep and wants it to look "OEM".

Is there any where to buy this type of weather stripping by the foot? I'd like to use some on my rear over fenders.

On eBay. Just search for lip weather strip kit.
They sell by the foot
