The top of the ideal range may have you a little lower than stock.

Its for this reason you see conflicting reports. You can get stock ride, but the question is should you go for stock ride height...
what would be the smallest amount of lowering you could get and still reach that ideal range?

I'm using SBG's Ohlins setup on 14k/12k and it rides more compliant than stock. I've been on them for 24 hours and I can already tell a difference between grip using crappy tires on a snowy road and the stock setup. I have an autocross event this weekend so I can keep you posted on how they feel at the limit.

I have ST Coilovers on my S2K and I have been really impressed with them thus far. Comfortable and compliant.

i have the koni yellows on the softest setting with ground control coilovers with the standard off the self spring rate and i think the ride more conferable than stock. I tried to set the coilovers to as high as possible and only a little lower than the stock ride height

There are two models of ST available for S, which ones do you have?

I was very surprised with my HKS HyperMaxes.

The ride is firm and controlled, but still comfortable, and I never felt like I was on hardcore racing suspension (although you can increase the dampening if that's your objective).

My friend's 2015 Honda Accord Sport has a harsher ride than my S2k.

Also a manufacturer's suggested price is not directly proportionate to quality or performance, implied or imagined.
