I forgot to update here, I ordered mine 3/22 (friday), it arrived in a nice little envelope (brown) on 3/25 (monday).
I'm installing it tomorrow I think, and I shall post up how it goes and will update later on the durability of it as well.

The Tear Aid I used is more like duct tape than a fabric patch. It squeaked when rubbing against the metal frame, but did stay attached for over a year but is visibly peeling. I'm replacing it with fabric patches and vinyl glue, and the glue seems to work much better in keeping the patches in place. I don't know how well a peel-and-stick adhesive would work since there's less of the "locking effect" that you'd get with a liquid adhesive that can work itself into the two bonding surfaces.

Just ordered this. If you already have a slight tear should you try to put some RTV or something in the tear from the top?

I've had this installed on all the wear points for about 2 weeks now. Stays in place well, and just the piece of mind of protecting the soft top is worth the $11.95.

My passenger side is showing a rubbing spot so I thought i would try and use electric tape and tape it around the bar. We'll see if it works or not.

I like to recommend this patch also. I ordered one kit and I was very please with material. And it seem to stick to the top pretty good. I like how the material almost blend into the top and you can almost can't see it. I like it so much and order another kit. Customer service is awsome also. Answer all your questions in a timely manner.

Just ordered mine! This might be a dumb question, but is it better to apply the patch from inside or outside? or both?

depends how big your tears are
you can put patches inside if the tears are small, for large tires i try to do both inside and outside. i also applied black silicone adhesive to them for good measure (cause i put the top up&down ALOT, like 3-5 times a day) and so far they've stayed on with no problems. the ones outside fade really bad though

Would this help for a soft top that already has a 2.5inch tear? will it prevent it from growing?
