Carbon Fiber Hood
What's a good brand for a carbon fiber hood? Are any of the ebay brands any good? I am looking to replace my hood which has a bunch of rock chips and add some ventilation for the supercharger. Any reason why I shouldn't by a CF hood?

the next week I helped my friend cut up his stock hood. For free... all he did was spend $10 on blades another $10 on mesh for the vents and $10 on rubber gaskets. Up to you.

because they can be expensive? I bought a Seibon hood (I forget which model) off Ebay, new for $750 shipped.

I had a J's Racing Type S hood which I loved, it was a couple pounds lighter than stock, but don't do these mods for expected weight savings as the savings is very small on the expensive brand name hoods. Single layer hood, very thin, strong enough but not overly strong. Perfect fitment. I loved the design of the Type S hood, it reduces front end lift without adding downforce, and ventilates great. Also any water that enters goes straight down to the ground through the lower splash shield, no equipment in the area of the vent slot to worry about water. J's is expensive but the Type s hood is usually the cheaper of the two designs.
I also had a Seibon Hood which was the replica J's Type S , it was heavier than stock, but it was a double layer hood and was very strong, it needed some adjustment to get it to fit decently.

I would suggest the following Seibon hoods below. The other Seibon hoods don't have the rain guards or channels like the authentic ones. Even the MUGEN style hoods won't work with the MUGEN intake. PM me for the best price on Seibon parts in the US.

I was debating on either a vented hood from Seibon or ViS to help with the turbo heat, and I finally decided on the ViS Terminator hood. It's like the Mugen one but without the front intake scoop. I had already planned on doing the Aerocatch latches so wanted the front to be flat on both sides where the latches would go. I'm really happy with the quality and fitment; it isn't 100% perfect fitment like the OEM hood but is pretty darn close IMO, and I'm pretty particular about these things. It also came with the rain guards for the vents.
