Bride Vios III Sport C Review

18 Attachment(s)
This is a review of a Bride Vios III Sport-C seat part # F42STF which is only 5.8kg/12.79 lbs according to Bride
which is lighter than all of their Carbon seats. It is not FIA approved though, and I dunno the difference between a Sport-C vs a regular Vios III Sport?
A hundred bucks and that's it maybe??
Attachment 103534
I bought this seat because I wanted to: A) save my OEM seat from wear and tear B) have benefits of a lightweight bucket seat C) sit in a seat that no one else farted in

how it came shipped

I had some extra rubber washers that I installed in seat rail * these DO NOT come with the seat!

5 seconds later...
Attachment 103545
Install was straightforward and the seat has plenty of clearance since it is only 560mm across
Attachment 103546
No rubbing
Attachment 103547
The hardest part was figuring out how to mount the seat belt
Attachment 103548
I bought a seat belt extender from http://www.4extender.com/ - Actual 2008-09 S2000 seat belt extender
http://www.4extender.com/SB.JPG
I found out that for a 2008-09 at least, the OEM seat belt receiver won't work so I just bolted the extender onto the hole in the seat rail
The OEM seat belt receiver is under the seat and I actually need another metal seat belt buckle in order to turn off the damn seat belt light/beeping
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...611_220234.jpg
Also I am not sure if the seat belt should go through the harness hole or not? It is easy enough to fix though
Attachment 103549
One word: Snug. They don't call them holding monsters for nothing
Attachment 103550
The seat feels really good and I am happy with the seat but do I think it is worth it? Hell No!
I paid a whole lot of money $$$$ for some cloth, fiberglass and a metal rail but oh well at least no one else has farted in them before...

oh yeah I recommend getting security screws the bolts are sized M8x25mm

LOL no one has farted in them before. Now that you say that, I'm having second thoughts about buying second hand..

TougeHorseman 06-12-2012 12:30 AM

LOL, all farts aside...

That's an interesting way to mount the seat belt buckle. Seems like it worked out well though. I ended up having to cut the OEM seat buckle to get it to mount to a Buddy Club rail. I used the same extender.

What don't yo like about the seat? Have you driven fast through some turns to get a feel for whether you feel more planted than the OEM CR seat? That tends to be the best benefit of the racing seats. When driving at the limit, you can feel why its worth it.

Kami Speed 06-12-2012 12:51 PM

what he said ^^^ but I'm glad your satisfied with our service, let me know if you need anything else

its hard to justify seats sometimes, believe me I sell them =P, but it really makes a difference on the track. Good seats feel great in turns and hold you in, oem and even knock offs tend to feel like the fiberglass is about to break on hard turns. But it all comes down to what you want, personally I love buckets for street use, gives me the opportunity to break out the racekor whenever ppl cut me off

I also found some nylon tool pouches at the 99¢ store and made wear patches out of them

the Vios III is a Low Max seat
lower than OEM seats and I had to reposition my mirrors
seating position is really comfy

so much that I took a nap in my car

Ya i use to have the Vios on my S13 with NASA rails, loved it. But i meant to ask how low do the bride rails go. finding good rails for these cars is a bitch, buddy club's seem to fail and a lot of the good Japanese co's stopped production.

What did you do with those wires? are they not connected after you installed the Bride?

The Bride rail is heavy and well built. The LF rail sits pretty low as it doesnt have a rear support bar

I ended up having to connect all the wires as my airbag light would light up
Keep in mind I have an 08

So you removed the other end of air bag wire off the OEM seat, and put everything under your new Bride?

Any issues with that buckle staying in place positioned like that?
I have the same extenders but it jabs your leg when it's hanging out (as I'm sure you know...)

Get these for your bolsters ;)
Bride tuning pad... I have a brand new set for sale. :argh:

i'm still trying to decide what to do with my seat belt receptacle. It sits perfectly between the seat and transmission tunnel, but it's not safe because the lap belt doesn't run tight across my pelvic bones. But I can't figure out how to bend the receptacle to fit into the harness hole and fit an extender.

Don't bend it hack it and bore a new hole. That way uou can use the flexibility of the extender piece to get the buckle where you want it.

basically lower my stock receptacle so it easily fits into the harness hole, then attach the extender? creative. thanks.

Any chance you happen to know what Ford model seat belt extender works with our receiver/buckle?
I went to Ford over the weekend and tested the only one they had in stock and it wouldn't clic into my S buckle.
Looks like the tongue part has a smaller hole in it compared to the S.
Thanks.

bumping an old thread for 2 reasons:

1) OP could you share your Ht/waist?

2) It appears the only difference is the lack of the buckskin on the shoulders in the Sport-C vs Regular seats.

Thx

Marloon 10-29-2016 08:49 PM

hi there,

i am going to bump this thread. i have a few questions regarding the vios 3.

1) can i still open the glove box?
2) what rails can i use or should i use with this seat?

do you guys have any issues with the seat itself? would you buy recaro pole positions?

haga888 10-30-2016 05:05 AM

1) yes. No rubbing.
2) any side mount rail should work.

if you have a waist bigger than 33", I'd look at another seat.
