CR Hardtop vs. OEM regular HT

Did a search, could find any comparisons.

So here is my question. My source at Honda told be that the CR hardtop is lighter. He said that it is constructed entirely of aluminum. He also told me that the regular OEM HT is constructed from a combination of aluminum and fiber glass. I was under the impression that it was solely constructed out of aluminum. The CR top is cheaper, by about $700 as well. Anyone with knowledge, please post what you know. Thanx

I believe Honda has not made any hardtop for the S2000 in the past. So there is no OEM hardtop. The CR hardtop is the very first hardtop made by Honda, I believe.

Are you being serious?

There has been an OEM hardtop for years.

What's fiberglass on the OEM HT?

There's been an OEM HT available since 2001, IIRC. ;)

If there is a difference in price and weight between the standard OEM top and the CR top, I would imagine it would probably be that the CR lack some of the interior molding in an effort to keep weight down.

Where did you find the CR hardtop $700 cheaper than regular OEM HT?
If this is true, I might just go with the CR hardtop!
