The nice thing about intakes is that they are only loud when you want them to be loud.

Generally alum intakes will be a bit louder than molded plastic. I agree with Jfusion the oem filter is the best obviously. I run A kn filter and notice a slight layer of dust on the inside of the intake. I plan on getting a dryflow instead

I would also say driving conditions has alot to do with it. Do you drive in the desert alot with gusts of dirt flying around? Like the previous poster, from my experiences with other cars,I did notice a slight film of dirt build up on insides of the intake tubing from using the k&n filters. Friends of mine notice the same thing too sometimes.Is the light intake of dirt enough to hurt the engine? I do not know. I decided on the cosworth filter instead because I would rather have my engine sucking in the least amount of dirt possible.I personally do not think the extra 2-3 hp is worth the wear and tear.
