Default Factory and aftermarket spoilers

I've liked the factory trunk spoiler for a while now and I'm curious to know how it is installed on the car. I am assuming the spoiler is bolted to the trunk, meaning if you don't have one already then you'll need to drill holes in the trunk (not what I'd want to do!!!!!). I also like the looks of the A-sport wing >>> http://www.yourhotcar.com/prod/Extre...05889/818586/# <<< but I don't want a piece that is held on by double sided tape. Does anyone know anything on the subject?

Thanks.

Double sided tape (if applied right) is very very strong - not quite as good as drilling, but nothing's going to fall off.

With the wing you posted the actual pressure put on it will be very small so as long as you prep the area with some alcohol wipes you'll be fine. It's only stuff that will have tq applied to it that must be bolted down.

GT Motoring's version that I have (which is similar to the one you've posted) has 2 10mm bolts that is positioned where the factory holes for the 3rd brake light are. Since you have to remove the 3rd brake light to use this spoiler, you can utilize the factory holes.

Elite spoilers have the best OEM like wings. $200 gets you one and that includes painting! It bolts on using the OEM hole marks under the lid.
